New Video: Enersion

In February, Enersion reached out to us to make a video that would explain their green technology ‘The Energy Cubed’.

After honing the script down from 3.5 pages to 2, we set out for a packed one day shoot at their facility in Scarborough where we filmed several interview segments, the Enersion team in action, and of course the Energy Cubed itself.

In a nutshell The Energy Cubed maximizes the output of solar panels by converting otherwise wasted heat into cooling and heating for a building or home.

The difficulty in shooting the Cube came from it’s enclosed design, and the fact we were restricted from shooting two large proprietary tanks housed inside. The best course of action, we decided, would be to use targeted, angled lighting, and use a probe lens (our only rental for this project).

The probe lens allowed us to shoot very close up, and infiltrate tight spaces without sacrificing depth of field. A good example of the lens can be seen in the shot near the video’s end that seems to exit a large blue pipe.
