Principal Photography on 'Sexy Driver' complete

After months of lead-up, delays and prep work, the Merging Forest team finally arrived on location to shoot the new music video for New York based artist Mimi Oz.

The concept of the video of ‘Sexy Driver’ is a young woman (Mimi herself) driving through the city at night when she picks up a mysterious man who seems to exhibit an unnatural and evil force.

We achieved the look not by using green screen, but the old fashioned and more authentic approach of rear screen projection. We added dash lights for interior ambience, and passed a warm temperature light over the car simulating passing street lamps using our Aputure 60X. All of this does an excellent job of creating a sense of motion, but also a dream like quality that the story demands.

There’s more work to do in terms of adding insert and VFX shots, but the bulk of the shooting is complete. The next update will be the video’s release.
