NEW VIDEO - Shearing Ontario's Shetlands

In May of 2023 Merging Forest traveled to Puslinch Ontario to film a day of Sheep Shearing at Chassagne Farm. Veteran Shearer Don Metherall, ranked 16th in the world, sheared dozens of Shetlands with ease and grace. We interviewed him and gained a fascinating insight into the practice. We also interviewed the owner of Chassagne Farm, Carole Precious, a amazing woman with a passion for what she does.

Since May we’ve been editing nearly an hour of interview footage as well as hours of shearing into a tight 5 minutes. The video was created as part of the Fabric of Canada series for the Campaign for Wool. The Campaign for Wool was launched in Canada by its Patron: The former Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall in Pictou.

The Campaign is His Majesty’s global endeavour to raise awareness of the unique, natural and sustainable benefits of wool, and currently runs across the world in 13 different countries.
